Wife Pleads Not Guilty To Husband's Murder

A judge lowers bond for a woman accused of murdering her husband.

Pam Bartley pleaded not guilty this morning in a Rowan County courtroom.

Pam Bartley is charged with killing Carl Bartley back in July.

Investigators say she shot him inside their Jeffersonville home.

During that hearing, a judge lowered her bond after testimony from several people.

Bartley released on bond. Her bond was set at 100 thousand dollar, full cash.

She was released under several conditions. Bartley has to stay in the state, remain in contact with her attorneys, not commit any crimes and show up for all scheduled court appearances.

This is a shame that Carl's family(his children and his mother, brother's and sister's have to go thru this. My thoughts and prayers are with them. Pam could have left this marriage also, she chose not too! I know she stayed for the money, she always thought she was better because of that, she is not a good person, God will take care of this for his mother especially, she is a wonderful woman. No one is without fault. She killed him, and the courts will prove it!

no one deserves that, they might in some peoples eyes., and she is getting what she deserves.... killing is wrong if he didnt have her to the wall with a gun in his hand or anything like that then it isnt justified

Kenneth,Pam did NOT keep Carl from getting medical care for 12 hours the first time...He wouldn't go.If she was such a horrible person you and some others try to make her out to be,then why the heck do you think Carl stayed with her for 25 MORE years?Do ya think he was afraid to leave?PLEASE!He KNEW he was lucky to have her put up with his bull. And just for your 411,he instigated that fight that lead to the shooting at that time, and HE NEVER PRESSED CHARGES because HE KNEW he was in the wrong. He KNEW he had treated Pam with disrespect and in such a demeaning way.He knew he deserved it,if not more! It's not about how much money she has.If you read the story before you posted,it said "judge lowered her bond after testimony from several people."SEVERAL PEOPLE,Kenneth.Dont ya hope you're not judged so quickly if someone close to you gets murdered and you're a suspect along with others?

I have been reading the comments on this story and others associated with the shooting of Carl for days now. What bothers me the most is how Carl's family is being talked about. I know there have been things happen in this family that has caused hurt and I'm sure embarrassment to Mattie and the rest of the family. I also know that those same things happen in all of our families. There are times I am so happy I do not live where I grew up because of things my relatives do. Another thing I know is that the Bartley family would also bend over backwards to help anyone.Mattie and especially her daughters are some of the finest ladies alive. Maybe Carl did things he shouldn't have done, so have I, and so has everyone reading this. No family should have to go through this. So I will pray for both Carl's family and for Pam's because I have no clue whether she is guilty or not and it is not my place to judge. I will just do my part as a human being and pray for all of them. God bless

Right on John. Seems no one in law enforcement has even thought about a certain person in Bath Co., that disappeared the same day Carl was shot. The mans car was found near the interstate and he had not been seen or heard from until Pam was arrested. His own mother hadnt heard from him. Hmmmm.......wonder who is next?

DO YOU PEOPLE THINK IF SHE HAD WANTED HIM DEAD , SHE WOULD HAVE KILLED HIM THE FIRST TIME SHE SHOT HIM. I DONT KNOW ALOT ABOUT THESE PEOPLE , BUT SOUNDS TO ME LIKE HE LEAD QUITE A LIFE. MAYBE THEY SHOULD KEEP DIGGING A LITTLE BIT FURHER , FROM THE WAY IT SOUNDS IT COULD HAAVE ANY NUMBER OF PEOPLE THAT MIGHT HAVE WANTED HIM DEAD, KIND OF SOUNDS LIKE THE BATH COUNTY MURDER THAT HAPPENED ABOUT FOUR YEARS AGO, NOBODY STILL KNOWS NOTHING ABOUT WHO KILLED JERRY, ALL THEY HAVE IS SUPECTS, THEY HAVEBEEN DRAGGING THIS OUT IN COURT FOR A VERY LONG TIME. WHO KNOWS WHEN THEY WILL FIND OUT WHO SHOT AND KILLED CARL.

Sounds like they need to investigate the states evidence he turned against some of the Bath county politicians. Sounds to me like that someone knew how, and what to do to lay the blame elsewhere. Crooked politicians in this country in this day in time have the power thet the old mafia used to have. And no one seems to question them. After all of the prosecutions in Bath County there may be more people that mysteriously vanish.

Pam, You are not alone in this. I know you are a good caring person. I thought the world of Carl also and he will always be missed. I pray everything works out in your favor.
