Pulaski District Court Releases Dog Abuse Video

Romeo, the Labrador is happy and healthy now. However, on June 10th, Ronald Shawn Turner's neighbors witnessed and videotaped Romeo endure abuse. That video shows the dog choked, hit, and slammed to the ground.

Turner's defense in court was the dog had bitten him twice and several attempts to control him didn't work.

“I lost my head,” Turner told jurors during his trial. “I lost my mind. All train of thought. What I did was inexcusable and I'm ashamed of it.”

Turner was convicted of animal cruelty charges and he's now serving four months in jail. But Romeo's future isn't quite as clear.

“He's very happy from what I'm told and doing very well. We would like to see him stay right where he is,” says Bill Lippert of the Pulaski County Humane Society.

Romeo is on a farm in the care of a local veterinarian. Motions have been filed to determine Romeo's permanent home.

This guy need a dog house thrown on top of him, and then see where his train of thought is. This may help him make better decisions in the further. I work for a veterinary and we would be glad to NEUTER him for free, however sedation would not be used in the procedure.

First of all, the Neighbors who cared enough to film and report this abuse, I do not know you but you are wonderful, I wish there were more like you. god bless you. next, to the person who makes the decision on the Dogs future, please leave him with the people who have him now, It seems they care for him and can give him the life he deserves. I have Labs, they are loving, playful and very gentle Dogs. I cry thinking someone could abuse one. watching this Video, I can only wonder what type of person this man is. His punishment was not severe enough.
