Frankfort Bank Held Up By Armed Man

Police in Frankfort are looking for a man who held up a downtown bank on Friday afternoon.

Police say the man robbed the Whittaker Bank on West Main Street just after two in the afternoon. The bank is about a mile from the capitol building.

Police say the man showed a silver handgun and got away with some cash.

The robber is described as a white man with a medium build, wearing a crew neck sweater and blue jeans.

If you have any information, contact Frankfort police.

What a fool? Well, he did get away so maybe he wasn't too foolish after all. However, to rob a bank in downtown Frankfort (not a big place) which is the headquarters to some 12 state, federal, and local law enforcement agencies...that either takes a really brave soul or a really stupid one. I have no idea how he got away with so many cops crawling around (I was in downtown Frankfort when this happened, you couldn't look a block in any direction without seeing some kind of armed officer).
