Gift Card Glitch Puts Buyers Out

Gift cards were the number one gift this year for Christmas and today was a big day for shoppers to use those cards to find bargains. But, many were in for a rude surprise in stores across Lexington and the nation when their gift cards didn't work.

We're told a computer glitch caused the problem at Walmart, and other stores and restaurants. In Lexington, Red Robin didn't turn gift card carrying customers away. Instead the restaurant picked up the tab for those customers.

Even before today, retailers across the country said they were counting on gift card sales to boost a rather sluggish Christmas season.
