Voters Choose New Representatives In Special Elections

Two legislative districts in the commonwealth have new representatives.

Voters in Bath, Bourbon, Nicholas and part of Fayette Counties elected democrat Sannie Overly. She defeated republican Bryan Beauman by 12 hundred votes.

The seat became open when Carolyn Belcher was elected Bath County Judge Executive.

Meanwhile, republican Alecia Webb-Edgington won the northern Kentucky seat vacated by Education Commissioner Jon Draud.

I would like to know where the Democratic party came up with so much money for a vacant house seat. We would have no budget woes if this money had been used for something more effective than a temporary representative. Ms Overly is a very snooty person- I had numerous people say they wouldn't vote for her because she only dealt with the wealthy. Must be apparent by the money spent.....As a democrat I am appalled....May have to start voting republican!!!
