A wild scene along a Kentucky highway after police say a suspected drunk driver crashed his car.

When police arrived on the scene of the crash Tuesday night on the Hal Rogers Parkway near London, they say they smelled alcohol on the driver, 41-year-old John Nolan, of Richmond.

An officer asked Nolan to take a sobriety test, but instead, police say Nolan spit at the officer and grabbed him.

Police say the officer then had to use a taser on Nolan.

Nolan was arrested and charged with DUI and resisting arrest, among other offenses.

Nolan was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.

He wasn't spitting he was just expectorating the phlegm clogging his breathing passages.
