Man Attacks Homeowners With Hammer In Home Invasion

It was a violent start to the day Friday for a Lexington couple attacked in their own home by a man with a hammer.

The man living at the home on Osage Court, off Woodhill Drive, went to the hospital with injuries.

He suffered injuries to his head and side after being hit with the hammer.

During the struggle, a woman inside the home came downstairs.

Police say she was hit once with the hammer, but didn't need to go to the hospital.

The suspect got away.

Police searched the area using K-9 units, but found no one.

Just think of the poetic justice that would have been served if the homeowner had a nail gun handy and shot the intruder that had the hammer. I'm chuckling just thinking of that scenario...LOL!
