Tornado Touch-down Confirmed In South-central Ky.

PARK CITY, Ky. (AP) - Weather officials have confirmed a tornado touched down and caused damage earlier this week in south central Kentucky.

A storm survey team with the National Weather Service rated the tornado an EF-1, with maximum wind speeds of 100 miles per hour. It struck about three miles southwest of Park City in Barren County on Thursday afternoon. No one was injured.

The weather service says the tornado touched down just after 3 p.m. EST and traveled about three miles.

The storms left a path of debris in Barren and surrounding counties, knocking over trees and damaging buildings and causing about a half-million dollars in damage.
