Governor Beshear Prepares For "State of Commonwealth" Address

Governor Steve Beshear is putting the finishing touches on his first “State of the Commonwealth” address.

Beshear will deliver the address to a joint session of the Kentucky General assembly at 7pm Monday evening in Frankfort.

Since taking office, much of Beshear's time and focus have been what he has called a state budget crisis.

Tonight's speech is expected to focus on broad goals for Kentucky.

He's set to introduce more specifics in his budget later this month.

All this talk of slashing education makes me wonder where KEA is hiding. I guess they spent all their members money electing the new governor. Come on KEA, I want to see you challenge the man you helped put in.

Maybe he should recommend that schools focus on spelling, even in big cities like Richmond. Breathe, Mr. Wow, breathe!

@ Kevin Location:Kentucky Or how about the last gov was such a theif he pardened all his friends and bankrupted the state? He knew he was dead after he pardened all his buddys 1yr before the election. WHy not get money into Ky that otherwise goes into quarter machines and dollar machines that are illegal? You think people dont gamble just cause they have to drive 150miles every now an then? I bet you live so far from a city you wouldnt even notice.

I believe the text reads "We are in financial trouble--we need casinoes. See you next year"
