Morriss To Pass On High School Coaching Job

There are reports out of Boyle County that say former UK football coach Guy Morriss has said no to coaching Boyle County High School's football team.

The school's athletics director tells 27 NEWSFIRST he heard from Morriss this afternoon. He says Morriss said the timing just wasn't right for him to take the job.

He says the search will go on for a new head football coach and wishes Morriss the best.

At my high school, the justified the football coach by having him teach driver's ed and study hall.

Channel 27 reported that a salary of >100K was offered. Excuse my ignorance but, there seems to be something wrong with this picture. If the football coach can get this much (probably has to teach a History class as well) then the HS teachers in Danville must be making a huge amount of money...right?

I wonder why the teachers don't get better salaries???? Could it be that sports have taken the forefront in our educational system?????

OMG, why would he coach a high school football team? This man can coach at the professional level if he wants and he could be a head coach at the NCAA level.

Danville and Boyle County is a vile place! Lawlessness is the only rule. Morris was wise to turn down this offer. He may have been killed his first day on the job!
