91-Year-Old Man Attacked During Home Invasion

A 91-year-old Bell County man is fighting for his life, after police say he became the victim of a violent home invasion.

Police say robbers broke into Bill Taylor's home in the Frakes community around 1 Tuesday morning.

Investigators say the robbers then beat him up, took what they wanted, then fled the scene.

Neighbors think drugs were the motive behind the robbery. They say Taylor had also been targeted before by people looking for money.

After the attack, neighbors say Taylor walked to a nearby home for help.

He was flown to the University of Tennessee Hospital, where he's said to be in serious condition in the intensive care unit.

So far, police have not made any arrests.

I live in the Frakes Community. It is a shame that the names of the suspects were disclosed all around the community. But the area police haven't made any arrests yet. It truly is a same for our community.

its easy for the ignorant to blame the police...do you have any idea how large this county is and how many calls they recieve on a nightly basis..really dont think you have the first clue about that or any other thing for that matter.if anyone is SORRY as you put it it is the some of the so called residents of this county who should not have been allowed to breed in the first place. I heard the call go out and i will tell you the ems crew and the sheriffs office as well as the dispatcher did an outstanding job. not an opinion but a fact.for you that critisize i have the sneaky inclination that you are people that turn your head and plug your ears at the first sighn of anything bad. the folks that work at the sheriffs office and bell county dispatch do what they do because they care about everyone in their county even the scum, for the people who run thier mouth about how bad the police are YOU ARE NOT WORTHY TO SCRAPE THE SCUM OFF THIER BOOTS

I see this as the problem in alot of cases. Criminals commit a crime and are back on the streets to repeat their crimes. We have no judges with backbones to give these criminals what they deserve! It's not the cops fault, it's the judges and lawyers fault for letting these scumbags go free! If a criminal repeats a crime after being let go, then the judge and lawyer involved in his/her release should have to spend time in jail for allowing them to commit more crimes! We have laws in this country, however, we have NO judges with enough sense to see to it that they are obeyed! Anyone that would attack a 91 yr old should never see the outside world again! They are useless to society! I hope the cops catch this trash and I hope the judge has enough sense to see to it that they are punished properly! Stop listening to the defense lawyers & start giving these scumbags what they deserve!

I AGREE WITH THE COMMENT WE NEED A HANDGUN WITH US AT ALL TIMES WE NEVER KNOW WHATS GOING TO HAPPEN NOW DAYS NO ONE CAN BE TRUSTED ANTMORE.I THINK THAT THE POLICE SHOULD STEP UP AND ACTED LIKE POLICE THERE SUPPOSED TO PROTECTED US BUT WE CANNT DEPENED ON THEM.IF SOMEONE COME IN ON ME I KNOW WHAT I WOULD DO AND IT WOULD NOT BE NICE AT ALL.I FEEL SO SORRY FOR THIS DEFENDLESS MAN WHOM WAS MINDING HIS OWN BUISNESS WHEN THIS HAPPENED.

I wish the vermin that did this to this elderly man could read what I am writing here. "You are nothing but scum. You are nothing more than a pimple on the (edited) of humanity taking up precious space on this planet. Your puke, raised from puke. The judge who has repeatedly let you go,(because no doubt this isnt your first offense), should be put in the same jail cell as your sorry scum bag self". If I could get in touch with this mans family, I would tell them I would gladly offer my time to come and help find the low-life scum sucking pig or pigs that did this to their father. No this isnt the law-enforcements fault. Blame it on the lazy, low-life, in-bred, un-educated, nasty corpuscle that did this. Dont blame the drugs or alchohol. This maggot has been this way their whole miserable rotten mistake of a life. You are (edited) and there will be no punishment on this planet bad enough for what God has in store for piles of crap like you.

I THINK THIS IS JUST AWFUL. I HOPE THE SOB'S THAT DID THIS ARE CAUGHT AND PUT IN JAIL AND HAVE THE SAME THING HAPPEN TO THEM EVERY DAY. BUT EVERY TIME PEOPLE ARE PUT INTO JAIL THESE DAYS THEY ARE OUT IN JUST A FEW DAYS. MAYBE IF THEY WOULD STAY LOCKED UP IT WOULD BE SAFE TO GO TO SLEEP AT NIGHT.
