Psychiatrist: Murder Suspect Planned Suicide

The trial of a former Lexington eye doctor, accused of murder, continued Thursday as his psychiatrist took the stand.

Michael Flick is accused of killing Christine Wittich, a former co-worker, and shooting his former business partner, Dr. Randall Lambrith back in 2005. All three worked together at a Lexington Lenscrafter's location.

Flick's psychiatrist, Dr. Robert Grancher, testified that Flick had just been fired from his job and he was going to Lambrith's house to talk.

He says Flick planned on killing himself in front of Lambrith if they couldn't resolve their issues.

The doctor says suicidal thoughts weren't new for Flick.

During cross examination, Grancher he said he believed flick is competent and responsible for what happened that day.

Grancher says Flick has superior intelligence with an IQ of 131, but he has serious social disorders. Grancher says exactly what happened that day is unknown because Flick has amnesia about the incident.

The trial will pick back up on Monday in Fayette Circuit court. Flick stands charged with murder, attempted murder and burglary.

This witness was not called by the prosecution but by the defense. Why don't you go get educated about the facts?

the prosecution's own witnesses of coarse said he had went there to commit sucide because these conversations took place after the fact. Flick is not stupid enough to admit that it was planned. Chrissy was innocent. If he was just going by to talk then why bring the gun, why drive a car you don't normally drive and park down the street. Cold, calculated...premeditated!!!!

I personally know and worked with both Flick and Lambirth. I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere but the day of the MURDER was Randy's birthday. Chrissy was at home alone seting up birthday decorations for everyone that was coming over after work to celebrate. This was premeditated murder. Of this I have no doubt.Such a tragedy, she was a wonderful woman who is greatly missed by many.

Why do the the prosecutions' OWN WITNESSES say that Mike went there to kill himself? None of the prosecution's witnesses described Mike as cold hearted at any point in his life - in fact, just the opposite. Maybe you need to be educated about the facts instead of the sensationalized info. The truth is never so simple.

i agree with the poster below--kinda hard to commit suicide when the gun's pointing AWAY from you. what a bunch of bull. hand him the gun back and tell him to try again--after making sure it's pointing in the right direction this time.

If he went to the house to just talk then why did he shoot the girl then wait for the doctor to come home as he stood there and watched the girl bleed to death? It doesn't seem that he wanted to talk. Its very hard to shoot yourself aiming and shooting the gun at the doctor.

I pray that Chrissy's spirit enlights all of those jurors so they really do see the truth and come to a just verdict for that cold hearted (edited)!!
