People Escape Early-Morning House Fire

Firefighters say it's amazing no one was hurt early Tuesday morning when a Nicholasville home caught fire.

It broke out on McDonald Street off of Broadway.

Firefighters say someone smelled smoke and noticed smoke coming from the walls upstairs.

The house didn't have working smoke detectors.

Firefighters say no one can live inside the house.

They think the fire was electrical.

Hey teresa, I'll believe they are hard working, but if they are here illegally, the word honest goes right out the window. And once again, I'll ask the question others have asked; why were they described as "workers" and not just as people, renters or any other word? We know why...but we can't really say it out loud because it is politically incorrect and people like Cathy Stein will get bent out of shape.

this story is not just about workers, and they were not just men, there was one young woman as well. these were people, members of our human race. barely surviving, but tragically losing all that they had. some running out without even their shoes on their feet in the freezing temperatures and snow. all their money, all their clothes, food, and all household items are gone. what few photographs they had are now also lost. Before you pass judgement on these hard working honest people, just thank God you still have a warm home and all your things.

WVLK-AM is reporting that up to twelve men lived in this house and the men are "workers." Hmmmm, what does that mean; workers? Illegal? My wife and I live in a house and I'm guessing we wouldn't be referred to as "workers." What's wrong with this picture? Twelve people living in one house and twelve ADULTS at that? Nope, I smell a rat.
