An elderly man is dead and police are still looking for who's responsible for the home invasion that led to his death.

It all started last week when someone broke into 91-year-old Bill Taylor's home in Bell County.

Taylor was beaten and robbed.

After a week long fight at a Tennessee hospital, Taylor died Tuesday night.

WYMT's Jeff Allen talked to Taylor's neighbors who say they're worried about their safety.

Bill Taylor died Tuesday night at the UT Medical Center about a week after the 91 year old was severely beaten at his home. News of his death spread quickly through the close-knit Bell County community of Frakes, where he lived.

“We'll be more cautious after this and I'm just really concerned for everybody around here,” Maxine Hatfield said.

Taylor's son Warren Taylor, who's been at his father's side at the hospital, came back to his home Wednesday.

He say's it's obvious where someone cut his father's telephone lines before attacking him.

He says his father put up a strong fight against his attackers and then in the hospital.

Now, his family wants justice.

“We knew police are working hard and we feel confident they'll catch them,” Warren Taylor said.

Police say they are now investigating this as a murder.

Right now they are not releasing the names of any suspects.
