Teen No Longer Facing Felony After Deadly Crash

Felony charges against a Lexington teenager involved in a deadly crash have been dropped.

David Childress, 18, still faces a misdemeanor charge of letting an underage person drive.

Larry Chowning III, 14, died in July after the car he was driving ran off Bryan Station Road and crashed into a fence.

Childress was the only adult in the car. He was charged with five counts of wanton endangerment.

Figures...message to teenagers in Kentucky---you can kill or do anything you want that is wantonly stupid or dangerous, and our legal system will give you a free pass because you're a kid. What a horrible (edited) message to send out to the youth in this state.
