Deputies Say Man Shot Father, Held Them At Bay For Hours

A four-hour standoff came to an end early Friday morning. after a shooting suspect barricaded himself in a home.

It all happened on Sawmill Road in the Jeffersonville community of Montgomery County.

Police say Lesley Howard, who was recently let out of prison, got into a fight with his father, Jack, and shot him in the leg.

Jack Howard drove to a relative's house in Powell County for help.

When police arrived at the trailer where Lesley Howard was, deputies were concerned because they thought he had weapons inside the home.

Deputies with the Montgomery County Sheriff's Department tried to talk to Howard and even used a bull horn.

He finally opened the door around three Friday morning and they were able to arrest him.

Sounds like this guy is pretty institutionalized. He needs to go back home to Eddyville or wherever he was and let the rest of the folks there have peace.
