Remains Of Northern Ky. Child Killed In Fire Recovered

BUTLER, Ky. (AP) - Authorities say they've recovered the remains of a 4-year-old boy killed Friday in a northern Kentucky house fire.

Kentucky State Police say Billy Joseph Hughes' remains have been recovered and authorities are performing an autopsy. An investigation is being conducted.

The boy's father, Jaime S. Hughes, was severely burned in the blaze. The family's home, located in Pendleton County south of Cincinnati, caught fire around 11 a.m. EST Friday.

Jaime Hughes and Christa L. Hughes, the boy's mother, were home when the fire started. Christa Hughes was not injured. Another child who lived in the home was at school during the fire.

AS we pray for the family in their tremendous loss, let us all also remember the police and fire personnel that handled this tragic event. Trust me, carrying out a deceased child is VERY HARD. I know, I've had to do it. You never get over it. May God bless all those involved.
