A central Kentucky man is recovering after he was attacked with his baseball bat, right in his front yard.

David Burnside says he received a call from Mathew Rogers who told him they needed to talk face to face.

Not knowing what to expect, Burnside walked outside with his baseball bat to meet him. Burnside says they were having a conversation when Rogers suddenly snapped, taking the bat from him and beating him with it several times.

Burnside has a broken elbow, gashes to his head and several cuts and bruises. Danville Police have issued a warrant for Mathew Rogers, who now faces assault charges.

Police think the confrontation between Rogers and Burnside may have been over a mutual friend.
