Father Charged With Abusing Infant Speaks Out

A Clark County man is in jail after police say he beat his three-week-old son.

Jesse Patrick now faces abuse charges, but he says he did not hurt his son. After pleading not guilty in court on Monday, he talked to 27 NEWSFIRST from jail.

Patrick was arrested Sunday after social services showed up at his Winchester home because someone called them saying three-week-old Wyatt had a black eye.

Patrick says Wyatt did have a bruise on his eye and it happened when the baby's mother was giving him a bath.

He says the baby wasn't crying and was sleeping well so he didn't think the bruise was a big deal.

Patrick says the hospital told him there were some other more serious injuries that were abusive in nature. Some of those injuries include broken bones and a possible skull fracture.

Patrick says the baby was in the care of friends when he and his girlfriend, who is the baby's mom, went to take a shower together. He says that has to be when Wyatt got hurt. So far, no other charges have been filed.

Patrick says, as a father of three, he would never hurt his baby. He is being held on a ten-thousand dollar bond.

Wyatt is in fair condition at Kentucky Children's Hospital.

I personally know this sick S.O.B. I believe that he is worthless and full of it. He so hurt that poor baby like everything else. He needs to be put away for a very very very long time or better yet slowly tortured like he did the baby.

WKYT and WYMT I love the pictures of the beautiful babies posted this week all dressed up in their U of K attire. I am so worried about this small baby along with lots of other small children. It seems this has become an epidemic of which is not only in Kentucky but a part of a national study for the United States and other courtries. Please visit http://suncanaa.com/in memory As I stated before, children are needing adults help. Lawmaker; This is the state the people who choose to reside in have placed you in a position to help the children. My prayers are that the baby will survive. My hopes are that the baby will be able to be dressed in a beautiful U of K out fit like those beautiful babies have been dressed this week on this site. Teacher's School Board members, Churches, politicians; allow the truly experienced news reporters to start looking at cases that concerned individuals are reachig out to them for help. PLEASE..........

I agree with kymom. This sorry excuse for a mother is as guilty as he is...Both of these animals needs the (edited) beat out of them.. I'm sorry people these innocent children are dying and no one seems to care.. What is it going to take..or should I say how many little one's are going to suffer before our judicial system puts these animals where they belong..

I hate looking at the news and seeing where a child is abused.. VERY SAD. SICK PARENTS. I read somewhere else that the mother of this child was forbade by the dad about taking the infant to the hospital. Do you believe this is true or do you believe this is just her way of getting out of jail? The low-life dad says that they were taking a shower. Only 3 ppl know, GOD, Patrick, and the girlfriend, the mother of the baby.. Why can we not comment on the other sickening story about the 3 children that were abused physically and sexually? I really wanted to preach on that one. But I saw no where for comments.

It sickens me to think that there are so many children out there hurting and no one is doing anything about it. I guarantee you this scum will be out on the streets free to do this again in no time! There's no possible way this child could have been hurt this badly and they no know it. If one of my kids falls or gets a cut or anything, I am calling the doctor to try to find out what I need to do to make sure it's not serious! That should be the mentality of any parent! It's called loving your children! This mother is just as guilty as he is! It's her job to protect it just the same!

Both should be held accountable for this crime. This baby should never be returned to them. People that do this crap should be taken out and horse whipped to within an inch of their lives to where they hope they die. Just think about the children who are old enough to know whats being done to them and end up being returned to the same people. You know that those kids have to live in fear every day wondering if and when it will happen agian, that is no way for a child to have to live. There is to many couples out there that cant have children who would love to take them into a secure, loving home. Lets all pray that baby Wyatt ends up with one of those loving couples.

I AM SO SICK OF HEARING ABOUT ADULTS HURTING LITTLE INNOCENT CHILDREN ESPECIALLY THE PARENTS OF THERE OWN CHILD, THERE FLESH AND BLOOD!! IT IS BECOMING A REGULAR THING ANYMORE. I READ IN THE PAPER OR HEAR ON THE NEWS THAT SO AND SO HAS ABUSED A SMALL INFANT OR CHILD IN THAT MATTER.. I DONT KNOW WHAT THE WORLD IS COMING TO. YOU KNOW THERE ARE REAL PROBLEMS WHEN THE JUDICIAL SYSTEM LOOKS AT A PERSON WITH A DRUG ADDICTION AS BEING MORE SERIOUS THAN A CHILD MOLESTER!!!!!!THATS A REAL PROBLEM.. I'VE SEEN IT ON A REGULAR BASIS. THESE JUDGES AROUND KY ARE A JOKE ANYMORE.. NOT ALL OF THEM BUT MAJORITY OF THEM. THE JUST LIKE THE AUTHORITY AND TO SIT PRETTY ON THE BENCH AND TALK DOWN TO PEOPLE,BECAUSE THEY CAN.. LETS JUST SIT BACK AND WATCH THE OUTCOME OF THIS CASE.. I WOULD SAY WE WILL BE BACK HERE ON WKYT DISCUSSING THE OUTCOME OF THE CASE BECAUSE HE WAS SLAPPED ON BUTT AND TOLD NOT TO DO IT AGAIN.. YOU TAKE A PAIN PILL AND GET CAUGHT ITS MONTHS IN JAIL.. YOU GO FIGURE.. COMMONFILTH STATE OF KY

If they had beat an animal the bond would be in the millions......Hold them accountable for their actions and lets quit wiping their butts and treat like the criminals they are......He needs to be beaten just like they did the baby!!!
