Men Beat, Duct Tape Man To Chair During Robbery

A man is recovering after being found duct-taped to a chair at work. Police say he had been beaten and robbed.

The frightening crime happened in Flemingsburg.

Bill Powers, who works as a painter, was working into the early morning hours at the Fleming-Mason Energy building. It is undergoing some major renovations.

Powers thought he was alone, but two other men were in the building and up to no good.

Powers says first the masked men robbed him and then they beat him. They eventually duct taped him to a chair.

The men went into every room in the building, ransacking desk drawers, likely looking for money.

Powers was duct taped to the chair for four or five hours. His co-workers found him in that position when they reported to work the next morning. They say he appeared to be in shock.

Powers says he's lucky to be alive. He says he forgives the men who robbed and beat him, but says God will judge them for their actions.

There's no sign yet of those two armed me.

Powers says despite continuing anxieties, he does plan to be back at work on Thursday.

This is more of a reason that every law-abiding citizen should carry a concealed deadly weapon so that when situations like this arise, the innocent party can take care of business and save the taxpayers a lot of money feeding these scum punks while they serve out their jail sentence.

Will those robbers get a tax rebate back from the US government after the Economic Incentive Package passes? This would help tide them over between robberies.

We are not safe anywhere! Robbed at work! These two scumbags were too lazy to work, but went and robbed someone who was working! It's alarming to see the number of robberies going on all over this state! I guess it's easier for this scum to take what someone else has than to work for what they want! I bet they are under the age of 30! This generation coming up is too lazy to work, they are being given everything by their parents and therefore don't know what it means to EARN things or to WAIT for what they want. So when mommy and daddy stop giving to them, they just start taking it from someone else! I hope they catch these two and actually punish them instead of slapping them on the wrist, but I'm not going to hold my breath!
