More Testimony On Illegal Immigration Bill In Frankfort

There's growing concern in Frankfort that illegal immigrants are crowding Kentucky's jails. That was the focus of testimony Monday on a bill that's designed to curb the flow of illegal residents into Kentucky.

It's a struggle for many in courthouses and jails, when the prisoners speak a language that officials don't understand.

Ernie Lewis heads up Kentucky's public advocacy program in the courts. He has a lot of problems with a bill that's aimed to to slow the flow of illegal immigrants in the state.

Part of the bill targets illegals in jails in order to eventually deport them. But Lewis fears that will cost the courts a lot of money and could even give some officers the incentive to arrest more.

Bob Damron says his bill won't increase racial profiling.

There was testimony Monday that simply using the jails will overload them with illegals. But Damron says it will do just the opposite.

The bill would require the federal officials to be called upon if an inmate says they're not a U.S. Citizen.

Illegal Immigration has caused more problems than anyone could have ever imagined. These problems WILL NOT go away until each and every illegal alien is out of this country and back in their own country. Kentucky, pass the Oklahoma or Arizona illegal immigration law. They will self deport. I'm working on Delaware as we have about 40,000 illegals here overcrowding our schools, hospitals, jails and everything else. It's time to put an end to this illegal immigration. Maybe come November 27, 2008, we can be thankful we have our country back.

We need to pass laws making it harder for the illegals to come here, and laws preventing folks from hiring them. $1000 a day fine for renting to an illegal or hiring one would be a good start. Any money that they want to send back to mexico or wherever they came from, add a 75% surcharge. We have to put it through their skulls that the majority of us do not want them here!

Of course your jails are getting full who do you think encourages there illiterate and criminals to go to America? Duh! There are now numerous programs in Mexico to empty their human trash and guess where? The program is working too, Mexico,s unemployment is lower then the states and the GNP% is higher then in the states. We are now a debtor nation to Mexico, whats with that? A bus driver (as an example) earns 350 to 400 pesos a day, plus benefits, a house to rent-any where from 800 to 3500 pesos a month, Doctor visit- 200 pesos, Fresh fruits and vegies for the week 800 pesos, etc. etc.. do the math. New cars all over the place, everyone has cellphones, including their kids. Most have computers and more money then you realize. Its not the amount of money you earn, its what that money buy's that counts, the richest man in the world, Carlos Slim, is a Mexican. Get real people, the Mexican people are on the whole, very nice, because most of the trash moved up north.

I am SICK and TIRED of turning my head in any direction and seeing illegal immigrants!!!!! It's getting ridiculous and these people are taking over our country!!!!! Why doesn't someone with power step up and fight this crap???? I don't like speculation therefore I will say that I know for a FACT that most of the illegals in Gtown are driving around on our streets and roadways with no license or insurance and not enough is being done about it. I'm not racial but if they are going to live here, they should become legal like the blacks and whites.

I wonder if the jails in Mexico are full of Americans. Kind of doubt it. Even the Mexican criminals would rather do time in US prisons. Doing the time Americans won't do..I guess.
