Three Fayette Co. Schools Dismiss Early Due To Power Outages

Three elementary schools in Fayette County will be dismissing early today at 10:30 a.m. due to power outages.

School officials tell 27 NEWSFIRST the schools are without power and have been operating on backup generators. Officials with Kentucky Utilities now says the power won't be restored until late afternoon.

So the decision's been made to dismiss at 10:30 for Garden Springs, James Lane Allen and Russell Cave Elementary Schools. Beaumont Middle School didn't open this morning, since it was without power.
We're told a power problem at Clays Mill Elementary has been fixed and classes remain in session.

Parents are being called individually and students will not be released from school, until a parent has authorized it.
