Gun Scare Near UK's Campus

A safety alert is being issued at the University of Kentucky after an incident involving a gun on campus Wednesday night.

UK police tell us three men tried to make their way into a student's home at Greg Page apartments.

The men didn't get in, but the victim told police they showed a gun and possibly fired a shot.

UK police say the victim knew the suspects and the crime was not random.

only if it's "laffy taffy" because humor isn't allowed when talking budget cuts at UK. Hard for Lee Todd to keep a straight face while chewing laffy taffy ;)

@Fred Location: Lexington Thats exactly what I laugh about. This at UK and a teacher killed by her husband in ohio at school the same day. Schools and campuses are the best place to find unarmed victims that arent accustomed to violent behaviour. More proof that if you outlaw guns only outlaws will have guns. You wont read about this happening in the 1920s or before gun control started.

Yet again, some UK Officials fail to follow the law. This incident doesn't fall into the Clery/Minger categories for putting out a campus safety alert. They were known suspects, it was a singular incident, and they can't say that they expect it to happen again. All they're doing is making it appear that UK is the most crime-ridden place in the state, when it's probably the safest place in Lexington statistically.

Old age must be affecting your hearing - they said "no gum" allowed on campus. You know how sticky and irritating that stuff can be when it gets on your shoes. You can't be a top 20 university with gum everywhere!
