Man Arrested After Shooting

A Southern Kentucky man is in jail after a late night shooting.

Officers responded to Hansford Street in Eubank around 2:30 Friday night after reports of a drive by shooting in the area.

Police say 41 year-old Derel Lee Griffin fired several shots into a trailer and garage following an argument. Carl "Rick" Smittle was injured in the shooting and was taken to Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital, where he was treated and released.

Police arrested Griffin. He's now in the Pulaski County Detention Center.

Grifin's court date in Pulaski for the Eubank shooting is April 24th. Bet he gets out of this shooting too. Wonder just what he knows and who he knows it on??? Pulaski better wake up and get this maniac off the streets before its too late for the next victim. Because griffin intends to kill someone.

I agree with Anonymous from Rockcastle, looks like the buddy system is very much at work. It's a shame that innocent people have gone thru lots of pain and suffering from this TRIGGER HAPPY MANIAC and noone in the justice system care. You can sure bet if he gun down someone in the justice system or their families, something would be done with him, it could happen too! This maniac should be in JAIL, not out here in our society. But when the buddy system is at work like it was in Rockcastle and looks like Pulaski is the same, then he can do whatever to people. Bull---- LIKE THIS NEEDS TO STOP!!! Everyone needs to remember all this when election time comes up in Rockcastle and Pulaski, put someone else in these positions, someone that has a HEART for the innocent people and not criminals like Derel Griffin.

I read all these stories and wonder when we will have an investigative reporter pick up on corruption in our law system. It would take someone with an exceptionally clean record or the investigator would be locked up to keep the story from reaching the public. Apparently the buddy system is very much at work in Rockcastle and Pulaski counties. This Griffin man has gotten away with everything except murder, so I imagine when he committs one, even if witnesses are present, because of apparent connections that he has, he will once again be set free. I have never been one to say "Lets take the law in our own hands", but it looks like we should. The next time this man strikes Who will it be? You, me, or his good helpers in the judicial system. This system is supposed to protect us not put someone like this back on the street.

Shots are fired, screams in the night, Dear God, my child, wife, husband, grandparents, father, mother, family,or friend has been shot by Derel Griffin. How would you feel if this happened to you, it could. It could happen to anyone that gets in his way. (edited). Wake up, take care of your own, there is no justice for innocent people.

This man should never be able to have a gun or even a gun shouldn't be aloud in his house. This man has some issues of taking the law into his own hands, especially after he calls the law this happens ever time. Why don't he just stay at home after he calls the law?? The people in that home that night of the shooting are very lucky to be alive today. This is a sad situation. Do something PULASKI LAW...

What happens if this griffin guy gets mad at a school (maybe his children are in school) and goes to shooting or gets mad at someone in a store and goes to shooting? The law needs to think about things like that cause it sure looks like he's capable of anything. What does griffin know, that keeps getting him out of trouble for these crimes he is committing?? Makes you wonder, huh????

This thing that is called Derel Griffin should he even have any gun rights at all? Shooting more than one person and then shooting up a home full of people and children. This thing has issues of using a gun all the time. He shouldn't even be able to put his hands on a gun ever again.
