Man Taken Into Custody For Gas Station Robbery

Lexington Police say they've taken a suspect into custody after a gas station clerk was pushed and robbed early Thursday.

Police say the suspect walked into the Shell Station along Athens Boonesboro Road near I-75 shortly before 3:00 a.m. Thursday and distracted the clerk.

The robber knocked the clerk over and fled with cash.

The clerk wasn't hurt.

Police say the suspect was found in the nearby EconoLodge. He was arrested and charged on cocaine charges. Police say the robbery charge is pending.
