Lexmark employees have been told to be on alert after their personal information was compromised online.

In a letter to employees, Lexmark officials say files containing personal information from some current and former workers were accessed by two unknown parties, last month. Those files contained names, addresses and social security numbers.

Lexmark told employees that there's no evidence that the information has been misused, but is offering employees enrollment in a credit monitoring service and identity theft insurance for a year, as a precaution.

Don't know about all "former employees" but my husband who is retired received the information packet yesterday offering him the monitoring service.

And what are they doing for their former employees whose info was accessed? I have a friend that once worked for them that didn't know anything about this until I read them the article here.

Well, Lexmark has been stealing from us for years with the price of their printer cartridges but I just hate to see this happen to their employees; they don't set the price for these things.
