Lexington Police: Thieves Crash Gate With Stolen Tree Equipment

A small family owned business in Lexington has a pricey equipment stolen overnight.

Police say it happened at a lot on W. New Circle Rd. A 1994 International 4100 Bucket Truck and an attached 1998 Morbark Brush Chipper were stolen.

The thieves allegedly hot wired the truck then crashed through a locked gate sometime between 2:30 AM Monday morning.

The truck was spotted later that day by a friend of the family who called police, but the chipper has still not been recovered. The owner tells us the chipper costs anywhere from $15,000 to $20,000.

Crime stoppers is offering a reward for anyone who can identify the thieves or lead police to recover the stolen equipment.
