Judge Refuses To Lower Bond For Accused Kidnapper

A Lexington man arrested on charges he kidnapped and sexually abused a 15-year old boy appear before a judge Tuesday afternoon.

Police say Jerry Wayne Humphries grabbed the victim as the teen walked along a Lexington street.

Police say Humphries then forced the teen inside his car, took him to an apartment off Tates Creek Road and sexually abused him.

The victim was able to pick Humphries out of a line-up.

In court today Humphries plead not guilty to those charges. A judge refused to lower his bond which is set at $47,500 in cash.

Humphries is scheduled to appear back in court on Monday.

    If Pam Goodwine is the judge she will let him out on a $500.00 bond.

    i think $47,500 seems a bit low. this is a pretty egregious crime and the perpetrator poses a risk to society if the allegations are true.
