Arrest Made Stemming From U.S. Beef Recall

A meatpacking worker is charged with animal cruelty in a case stemming from the biggest beef recall in U.S. history.

Pen manager Daniel Navarro was arrested at his home in California. Navarro worked at the Westland/Hallmark Meat Company.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture recalled more than 140-million pounds of beef shipped by the company after graphic undercover video surfaced showing crippled, sick cows being slaughtered for shipment.

Navarro was charged with five felony counts of animal abuse, and three misdemeanors. Those charges could carry almost six years in prison if convicted.

Since Luis Sanchez has been identified as an Illegal Alien, by the Los Angeles Times, I would think that he would not be eligible for bail. I wonder how many other Federal Laws Hallmark routinely ignores?

I am so tired of animals being mistreated and people not getting punished ENOUGH for their cruelty. Animals are intelligent and should be treated with compassion!

THIS COMMODITY BEEF GOT INTO OUR SCHOOL SYSTEMS AND OTHER PLACES. WHY WOULD HE DO SOMETHING LIKE THIS KNOWING THAT NOBODY KNEW ABOUT IT AT THE TIME AND SEND IT OUT FOR SHIPPING FOR US HUMAN BEINGS TO EAT. DID HE GET TO EAT SOME OF THIS CONTAMINATED, COMMODITY BEEF HIMSELF? DID ANY OF HIS FAMILY MEMBERS GET A HOLD OF ANY OF THE BAD BEEF?
