Car Crashes Into Lexington Apartment

Some frightening moments for a Lexington woman Wednesday, after a car crashed into her apartment.

Ruby Humphrey lives at the Hartford Place Apartments, on Martha Court.

"I was sitting here reading a paper, and all of a sudden, the whole wall came in on me," Humphrey said.

Police say the driver of a car got her foot wedged between the floor mat and the foot pedal, while she was going in reverse.

That sent the car crashing into Humphrey's living room.

"I got up and tried to get out, but I couldn't get the door open," Humphrey said.

Humphrey was soon able to get out of her apartment. The crash broke a wall, along with a bay window in her living room.

No one was hurt in the crash.

Repairs are already underway at Humphrey's apartment. She plans to stay with her daughter until she can return home.
