Man Accused Of Stealing Cash Register, Possessing Drugs

A Somerset man was arrested on drug charges Monday by Somerset Police after receiving a complaint on the subject trying to steal a cash register from K-Mart. At around 3 PM, 911 received a call from K-Mart that an individual had cut the cords to a cash register and was attempting to steal it. As officers arrived, the suspect fled on foot. Officers began a search of the area locating the subject on GE Drive. Upon checking the subject for weapons, the suspect told Officer Eric Klepper that he had drug paraphernalia in his pocket. The suspect, Kyle Cordell, 20 years old, was transported back to K-Mart. A consent search of Cordell’s truck revealed a small amount of marijuana. Also located in Cordell’s truck were items believed to be stolen from vehicles recently including a credit card that had been fraudulently used at J.C. Penney's.

Cordell was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of controlled substance 1st degree 1st offense. He was lodged in the Pulaski County Detention. The investigation is continuing with additional charges expected to be filed.

Hey Kyle got what he deserved. I gave this kid a ride to the store and walked in to use the restroom, when I returned he was running down the street with my wallet, so don't feel bad for him.

The idiot would be the person that is too stupid to realize that there is a family involved and that we should be praying for them and their son. If you do not have a loved one that is an addict, then you have no right to say anything that could be hurtful to the family. And here is a little info for you....chances are you have a loved one that is an addict, you may not know it, they may not even know it, I almost guarantee it.

You should always leave cash drawers on registers open at night. The thing is that bad guys will see a register with a closed drawer and just be sure that it is stuffed with cash so they steal the whole thing and beat it up to get into the drawer when there was never any money in it in the first place. My site has other helpful cash register tips at (edited) Thanks!
