Kids in Mrs. Hughes' Walkertown Elementary kindergarten class are learning about patriotism. She says the Iraq War is a hot topic even with 6-year-olds.

The kids made flags to send to the soldiers overseas.

"There's a lot of people that gets killed over there and stuff," says 6-year-old Hannah Collett.

"My Daddy tells me all about it on the phone."

Hannah Collet's dad was deployed in August. She hasn't seen him in 100 days.

Until Tuesday when he showed up in Hannah's class.

Jonathan Collett wasn't supposed to come home until next week...but he just couldn't wait to see his daughter.

"I think it's just pretty much this right here," says Collett as he carries his daughter in his arms.

"It's the love and attention. I've just missed hanging out with my daughter."

Mom admits it was tough not to spill the beans about his early homecoming.

"She worries a lot and she cries a lot, so I' very glad that he's home safe and she got to see him."

So what's on Dad's mind?

"I'm gonna spoil her rotten! That's pretty much all I've got planned."

This is what I wish was in all news stories. This is a wonderful and heart-filling story. I hope this little girl gets to have the time of her life with her daddy. God Bless and kept Dad safe for a save return to home again. Way to go WYMT.
