Convicted Sex Offender Found Working At Daycare

A Jefferson County daycare is under investigation after state inspectors discovered a sex offender was employed there.

Inspectors performing a routine license check at the Growing Place Daycare discovered conflicting information on the background check of an employee.

After further checks, they discovered that 36-year-old Joseph Gibson was a registered sex offender in Louisville. The daycare immediately fired Gibson.

The Cabinet for Health and Family Services says there have been no complaints filed regarding injured children from the daycare.

Did the daycare not run a background check. And another thing, i dont know of any daycares in my area that have men working in them. Im not saying that men should not work in daycare or not be allowed but just look at this man. Honestly, why would anyone want to hire him. He just doesnt appear to be someone that i would hire. This daycare needs to be held responsible. Im sorry no matter how often daycares get inspected, i dont think any daycare is safe anymore. I know ive worked in all the ones in Mount Sterling and ive quit every single one cause they do not treat the children right. Its all a big money thing with them. Im sorry but before i put my kids in a daycare I will go jobless. These daycares are just not operated like they should be anymore.

This daycare should have its license revoked. There is absolutely no way the daycare would not have known that this piece of garbage was a sex offender. They just didn't run the required checks or they ran them and ignored them. Close it down and give the owners/responsible parties about 20 years in jail to think about it.
