Bank Robbed Twice In One Week

Lexington Police were called around 10:45am Friday to the Traditional Bank on Tates Creek Road for a reported robbery.

Police say someone called in a bank robbery at the UK Credit Union on Sir Barton Way at around 10:35. Police believe that was a diversion, because as they responded to that scene, someone held up the Traditional Bank across town.

Police say the robber was wearing a scarf on his head and another scarf covered his face. They say he has a dark complexion and is about 5 foot 9 inches tall.

Police say he did not have a gun. He used a note to demand money from a teller.

They also tell 27 NEWSFIRST that two people followed him out of the bank and watched him get into a white Nissan Maxima.

It's believed the license plate of that car starts with 941.

If I worked in a bank in Lexington I would wear a diaper.

There have been so many bank heists in Lexington you would think that the Lexington police would be getting embarrassed by now. Its every week and/or every other day. Why not post officers at each bank. Or have a few rotate from bank to bank. That would deter 99 percent of the robberies. Someone's brain is asleep at the helm. Seems like every time someone visits Lexington they make a withdrawal. How many cases have they solved? ONE. I can understand why the thugs love banking in Lexington. No law enforcement. It's like the famous monkey trio! See no evil, hear no evil, do no evil. Now there's a fourth monkey! Lexington police, who cares about evil.
