Another family in eastern Kentucky is trying to figure out if their home can be saved after the side of a cliff crumbled into it Tuesday night.
Family members say they were only inches away from the rocks when they fell.
It was a quiet night in front of the computer for Bradley Combs and his brother.
“We heard like a crash outside and we looked outside and we saw little pieces of rock fall off and we didn't think anything about it and then all of a sudden the whole cliff just like fell over, it wasn't like a slide, it just toppled over,” Bradley Combs said.
The Combs' family home is on highway 2446 in Perry County, but family members say they feared the house would soon be a lot closer to the road.
“I was just thinking that we needed to get out because I was afraid the house would tip on over and fall over the cliff,” Bradley Combs said.
The family says large rocks crushed their back porch and ripped into their home a little after 9 o'clock Tuesday night.
“It demolished my kitchen, destroyed my stove and everything in the kitchen,” Sally Combs said.
Sally Combs says her husband and her daughter were both in the kitchen when the rocks came down, but luckily they both got out with only a few cuts and bruises.
The family says luckily even their pets that are normally on the back porch managed to get out alive.
The mobile home is knocked off the foundation and is now separated from the addition the family built.
Sally says she doesn't think their home owner's insurance will be enough to repair their home.
The Combs family says they don't know what caused the slide but they say they did see water flowing around the rocks recently.
