Winter Storm Warning Issued, 6-10" Of Snow Possible In Lexington Area

A winter storm is barreling towards the bluegrass. We could see significant snow in the Lexington area.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for most of Central Kentucky into the day on Saturday.

The storm could dump some of the biggest snowfall the area has seen in years.

As much as six to ten inches is possible in the Lexington area by late Saturday night.

The totals could be more to the north and west of Lexington.

In Lexington, sleet started falling Friday morning.

Road crews around the region spent much of Thursday preparing for the winter storm. Most major highways have been pre-treated.

REMEMBER: We maintain a complete listing of snow

You go, Joey, since you are so superior than everybody else. Let's call this "Joey's Column" and not let anyone else post an opinion, since he is always right and everyone else are idiots...

Wow Frosty, you're a genius. So if I use cfl bulbs (which I already do) I'll cut my electric bill when the temperature is 16 degrees outside and my heat pump automatically goes into auxilliary mode? I keep my thermostat at 67 degrees you idiot. Heat pumps don't work well below 32 degrees but I'd rather pay that bill than the one if I had gas heat.

The sun is shining today and the snow is melting!!!!OMG !!! It has to be global warming!!! Al Gore has to get to the shelter immediately!! Oh but wait, it is winter, almost spring, must be........the weather in Kentucky you idiots!!!!

I'm glad all of you weather experts on here were right about us not getting any snow. I sure know I trust a bunch of negative comments over the National Weather Service any day. And even if you don't believe in global warming, why don't you try to cut your energy use anyway for the sake of saving money? Your bills will be much lower. I don't care if you don't like Al Gore. Swallow your pride and buy a cfl bulb. You won't have to put a new one in for years and your electric bill will be lower. And the "new communism"...that's a good one. Now go build a snowman before all the snow melts.

Freedom of speech. Don't you just love it! It's about the only one we have left! Let's not insult each other and enjoy the only "free" freedom we have left.

Don't run out for bologna, milk and bread just yet. We were predicted 6-10 inches here in the North and didn't arrive.
