Amnesty Program Brings In $10,000

So called deadbeat parents in Jessamine County are taking advantage of an amnesty week program.

For this week, parents behind on their child support, were offered the chance to make a 10% down payment, and set-up a payment plan, in order to avoid jail time.

Court officials say so far this week, they've collected almost $10,000 in back child support, with 19 people taking advantage of the deal.
There are more than 1300 parents in Jessamine County behind on their child support.

i dont care if you are a mom or dad.if you owe child support you should pay.the child didnt ask to be brought in this world, they have to eat too.and its not fair to make one parent do it all.

19 people? Out of 1300??? That just proves that the other 1281 don't care to comply with the law and don't care about their children's welfare, the same children that if they had kept their pants on they wouldn't have. I sincerely hope that Jessamine District Court issues 1281 warrants Monday morning and the jail in Jessamine County is so full by noon that they have to start taking them to Fayette County. If you deadbeat parents can't take care of the children you created, then you should be in prison until the child turns 18 and you are no longer responsible. Sounds like a good deal to me. If your kid is 5, you get 13 years in prison. If they're 15, then 3 years in prison. Maybe if we'd quit being a bunch of crybabies and letting these scumbags off the hook, they would be compelled to either 1) quit having sex, or 2) take responsibility for their children.
