Family Fight Led To Deadly Shooting, Police Say

A man is dead after a shooting in Madison County. It happened Sunday evening at a home along Maple Grove Rd., just outside of Richmond.

State police tell us when they got to the scene, they found William Buttry dead from a gunshot wound to his chest. Police say Buttry and his son, Dean, got into a fight. That's when they say William hit Dean in the head with a handgun. Police tell us William's wife, Jeannie, then took the gun and shot her husband.

No charges have been filed. Jeannie Buttry tells police she was protecting her son. Dean Buttry was taken to the hospital with broken bones. The case is still under investigation.

I grew up with Billy and Shan and John Buttry. This is a truly shocking story...I DO NOT believe that Billy would do this!!!Not saying there wasnt a argument but I just dont see Billy going to extremes like this on his own child! I really believe that there is more to the TRUTH than what is being said. To you Christine and the rest of the family...Im truly sorry and if you need anything just call me!!

The Bible predicted fathers turning against sons, sons against fathers, in the days before Jesus comes back.
