Fund Set Up For Dogs, Hurt In Fire

Days after a fire damaged a Lexington apartment complex, two dogs are recovering, thanks to the work of a Lexington pet care center.

Lola and Bailey were rescued from their home at the Patchen Apartments, off Richmond Road, Friday.

No one else was home at the time.

The dogs were taken to Sheabel Animal Medical Center, to be treated for their injuries. They've been getting around the clock care, free of charge. Veterinarians say the dogs have a long road to recovery and expect to keep them at least through the week.

There's now a care fund set up for the dogs. You can make a donation at Central Bank locations.

I would love to healp BUT the newscaster said to make checks payable to the couple who lost everything. Can you not donate directly to Shebael? Does anyone know?

When it's a 1973 Janitrol furnace in question, I think the renter needs to contact an attorney.

Those poor dogs. WOrst part is they dotn have any idea whats happened or happening to them. On the darker side I bet people will try to pass a law against fire or furnaces now. (last sentence is sarcasm.)
