Fiscal Court Considers Dog Ordinance

The fiscal court in Lincoln County is taking up a vote on a dog ordinance.

The ordinance would punish owners whose dogs persistently bark, get on to other people's property overturn over garbage cans, among other complaints.

Under the ordinance, those dogs would be impounded and either put to sleep or sold, if the owner's don't pay a fine within a five-day period.

That vote takes place Tuesday morning at the Lincoln County courthouse.

It would be a good ordinance, if it is enforced. I don't know if dog wardens are just overworked, or distracted. But I know I have called them here numerous times and never got a response.
