Corvette Bill Parked In House Committee

A bill that would honor the Chevrolet Corvette as the official state sports car is parked in a house committee.

State representative C.B Embry, from Butler County, filed the bill last year.

He says the bill is needed to honor an automaker that's vital to the state's economy. The corvette is manufactured solely in Warren County.

The chairman of the house committee on state government says he doesn't plan to try to advance the bill.

If we are going to have any official state car, whether it be a sport car or family sedan, it needs to be a car WITHOUT turn signals. Nobody in this state uses them so why vote for a car that has them?

What a crop of bullstuff. Our legislature is facing a major financial crisis and they are worried about naming an official state sports car? They should be taking care of actual problems so more Ky residents could afford to purchase and drive a Corvette.Come on Embry, get to work and quit screwing around on taxpayer's timeclock.

I am so happy that the house has solved all of our problems here in Kentucky so we can name a state car.

State sports car? What a joke. There are plenty more important issues we need to be concerned about.
