Shot Fired Into Apartment While Crew Painted

Five empty bullet casings and a bullet through an apartment is what Lexington police arrived to find Tuesday morning on the city's west side.

They responded to an apartment complex on Village Drive after someone thought they heard shots fired.

While no one lived at the apartment at the time, maintenance workers were inside painting when the call came in, but tell police at the time they didn't hear anything.

Police say the single bullet they found in the apartment traveled through the metal door and a closet. It was found lodged in the back wall of the apartment.

Something definitely needs to be done on Village Dr. and surrounding area. It's getting to where kids won't even be able to play over there without the parents having to worry if their child could be killed because of some stupid gang that decided to get gun happy. This is serious and does need to be taken care of before it gets to the point where it will eventually overrun the neighborhoods and then noone will be safe.

From the "tagging" done all over Village Drive one might think that the latin kings are responsible for this one and MANY others. Keep sitting on your hands and you better stock up on plenty of BODY BAGS! I am serious people, these little punks WILL cut you or shoot you.
