Police Chase Loose Cattle Near Downtown Lexington

Lexington police officers were busy overnight on Wednesday, dealing with loose cattle from a stock yard.

At least one calf and its mother escaped around nine Tuesday night.

At one point, police were able to corral the animals near the Red Mile, but officers say they shot and killed one cow when it charged at one officer at Versailles Road at Forbes.

They say they didn't want it to cause an accident.
