14-Year Old Dances At Strip Club; Owner Cited

The manager of a Lexington strip club has been cited in connection to a 14-year old working as a stripper.

Lexington Police say Camelot West Strip Club manager Robert Shields has been cited for endangering the welfare of a minor.

The Lexington Herald Leader reports the 14-year-old girl worked as a stripper for two nights before her parents showed up and called police.
Investigators say the teen used a fake ID to get the job.

that she was a runaway. That is why the parents didn't know where she was (it doesn't excuse them however).

Has anyone thought to check the manager for child porn. Sounds to me as if the profile is dead on. I hope that further charges come from this this story.

I think everyone related to the situation is guilty. The girl for being low class and obviously unattended by parents, parents for being too uninvolved in her personal life, and the manager and or owner for business as usual.

While I agree with some of you that a 14 year old could pass as a 20 year old,I have one question. How does any parent of a 14 year old NOT know where their child is at that time of night?Sounds to me like the parents never kept up with the girl to begin with. She must have a very unstable life at home to turn to stripping. Abuse? Most of the strippers that start young, if you hear their stories, were abused as a child. When my child was 14 I knew where he was 100% of the time and I lived in the city. The parents need to be investigated as well as the owner of the club.

My favorite part of this whole thing is that the parents "showed up and called police". Is anyone else wondering how the parents came to be at the strip club? Did they go looking for her or did they just happen to be there and see her dancing? I'd love to find that out.
