Pilot Survives Plane Crash

The NTSB is investigating a plane crash in Eastern Kentucky. Dispatcher in Bell County say the only person on board, the pilot, is alive.

The single engine cessna went down around three in a rural area, a few miles outside Pineville. State Police tell 27 NEWSFIRST ATV riders in the area saw the plane go down, and called 911.

The pilot was taken to the hospital. The extent of his injures are not known, but we do know he was conscious and talking to rescue crews when they arrived.

The pilot didn't have a current medical certificate which is required for a pilot to operate a plane. He was not legally allowed to be flying.

I do hope that the gentleman makes it. I was one of the people that saw this happen. I'm just glad that we were there to help. I know that in the past ATV riders have gotten a bad reputation. I hope that this goes to show that we, ATV riders, can help a lot too.
