Sgt. Pat Murray says the raised bed of the dump truck got caught in the power lines, dragging them down to the road and snapping the light pole in half. Police were busy diverting traffic.

Angelia Moreford was working at the Red Roof Inn across the street when she says she saw the lines spark, then the power went out.

Cliff Feltham with KU tells us two hundred customers were without power and would probably be until about nine o'clock tonight.

The driver of the truck said the bed must have malfunctioned but he is just lucky to be alive.
