Salvation Army Donations Stolen From Boxes

From clothes to furniture, the Salvation Army in Danville works to make sure they're stocked up, and they usually are, until recently.

Frances King says it's not because people aren't in the giving spirit. She thinks someone is taking from donation boxes.

"I don't know if people see it there, and it's free, and think they can just take it," said King.
"It's against the law to take it."

To avoid the problem of people picking up items from the donation boxes, officials with the Salvation Army say you can drop your donations off at their main center in Danville between nine and five, Monday thru Friday.

I bet some people need these items who would have never dreamed they'd be in such a situation....and are embarrassed to be seem shopping in the Salvation Army stores. Not that this excuses them, but the economy is so bad with the rising cost of gas, food, medical care, etc...that I can imagine desperate people out there...
