Scramble On To Get Left Out UK Fans The Game

ATLANTA, GA. -- 27 SPORTSFIRST in Atlanta is reporting that IMG College (formerly Host Communications) and Big Blue Sports are working with "Stats" a sports bar on Marietta Street in Atlanta, to show the noon game for U. K. fans shut out because of the smaller venue.

They also report many hotels and sports bars in Atlanta are scrambling to carrying the UK- Ga. game for fans who traveled to Atlanta but will not be able to attend in person because of limited seating. The game is to be played at noon.

SEC officials decided early today to move the tournament to Georgia Tech's Alexander Memorial Coliseum with a seating capacity of 9,100. The Georgia Dome, stormed damaged last night, has a basketball capacity of 26,000.

SEC officials are limiting attendance to, "players' families, cheerleaders, bands and those with working credentials, no more than 2,000 per game."

Early today, the 27 SPORTSFIRST team reported that, for instance, the Marriott Marquee has made accomodations to carry the game in their sports bar and in their restaurant bar. The WKYT-TV sports team says many other hotels and sports bars are scrambling to make similar accommodations.

UK fans who will not be able to attend, should consult their hotel or motel management, for information on where to see the game.

Typical filthy trash. Just another reason people make fun of us Kentuckians. I just heard on the radio that some McFadden (edited) is filing a class action lawsuit against the Georgia Dome Monday...I hope they counter-sue and leave him homeless...

He's contacted a lawyer already this morning" THAT IS VERY SAD, WANTING TO SUE SOMEONE FOR BEING PROTECTED! SHOWS WHAT KIND OF WORLD WE LIVE IN. I AGREE IT'S TERRIBLE FOR FANS THAT WENT TO ATLANTA BUT COME ON! SAFETY IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN BEING AT ANY GAME!!!!!!!!! GO CATS!

Joyce in Williamsburg.....move the tour. from the G. dome? Can you control the weather? People lost lives and their homes due to this storm. But all you selfish people can think about is that you didn't get your way.All of you with this attitude disgust me!If you really had true Ky spirit, you would be concerned for all those that really lost something in that storm. Not the price of a stinking ticket or a chance to see a game.Shame on all of you.

What punishment? Really people...there was a tornado. It disrupted the tournament for EVERYBODY, not just UK. Some people actually died, while many others were injured. No other team had fans present while UK did not. I think the SEC made the best decision in a terrible and tragic situation. People really should learn to have a little perspective about things. In the grand scheme, are you grateful to be alive, or PO'd that you missed a ball game? If you answer the need some serious priority adjustments.

i think the sitution with the sec games stink. it's not right to punish the fans of uk bye not allowing them in the game. it gives the other teams a big lift. i think the tournament needs to be moved from the georgia dome. so this does not happen again.
