UK loses to Ga. 60-56 In OT In Storm-Scrambled Tourney

ATLANTA, GA. -- After a tornado damaged the Georgia Dome, the SEC Tournament was rescheduled and moved to a smaller venue, and fans were not allowed into the game to root them on, the UK Wildcats played a grueling game sent into overtime at 50 - 50... then lost to the University of Georgia by a final score of 60 to 56.

Zac Swansey scored five points in overtime, including an unlikely turnaround 3-pointer with 1.2 seconds left, and Georgia upset Kentucky Saturday to continue its surprising SEC tournament run.

Kentucky (18-12) is left with a nervous wait for Sunday, when NCAA tournament bids are released.

Terrance Woodbury scored 17 points and Sundiatta Gaines had 16 as Georgia (15-16) took its first Southeastern Conference tournament victory over Kentucky in nine tries.

Swansey, a freshmen who averages 4.2 points per game, was guarded by Ramon Harris as he drove the court before stopping, spinning and launching the 3-pointer in front of the Georgia bench, giving the Bulldogs a 57-56 lead.

The game was played at Alexander Memorial Coliseum on the campus of Georgia Tech - Georgia's in-state rival. A tornado damaged the Georgia Dome during the overtime period of Mississippi State's quarterfinals win over Alabama on Friday night, forcing the tournament's move to the smaller facility.

In order for the economy to get revived, and for our country to move forward we need to protest the price of gas since oil companies are making billions of dollars in one year. Also if companies really want to help America, then we need to lower the interest not only on mortgage loans but on cc debt, I have only 2 cc and the interest states it can go as high as 26% and if americans are trying to pay down their debt at 26% interest, it will not happen as I am sure they are only making monthly payments, they will not get out of debt. America we need to stop the gougging of our pockets, if we continue to allow this; I have heard numerous of our precious elderly state we are going into a depression and we had better be stepping up and saying/protesting. We protested back in the 70's, with farmers and truckers going to Washington with their tractors and trucks. This worked, some of the peoples that can fix the problem are ignoring the problem and it is growing into a monster.

hey all you great sec ref's dennis felton is haveing a party to celebrate wining the tourney and you are all welcome to come and join in his I mean your success in winning GREAT JOB REFS

the sec should hire 3rd graders to call the games next year not only would they do a better job but you could live with a mistake a kid makes rather than a adult WAY TO GO SEC REFS

I think next year the sec tourney should be played outside in alaska that way the sec officals wont have no excuse to limit the fans to watch the game and those great sec ref's will have a good excuse not to call walks and fouls on players when they run over someone they can blame it on the ice

A bad call? How about the team just sucked.

2 blown calls at the end of the game, both going Georgia's way.Now they are SEC Champs!I didn't watch, and wasn't going to give the SEC the TV coverage after they screwed the whole weekend up!!A tornado went through,ok I will by that..but if the arena wasn't safe, why did they finish the other game!!It should have been stopped also.Maybe the SEC officials(not caps on purpose) should be held accountable.I don't care if they don't like Ky.,but they only hurt the kids playing the game.I have saw this kind of officiating all year in High School, they should be held to a higher standard!!!

if the sec committe would limit the people to enter the georgia tech areana for the ky georgia game and the arkansas tenn game saturday why dindnt they use the same limits on sundays game georgia had the fans and home court advantage sounds like a little georgia home cooking maby next year the sec can play the games in dennis feltons back yard with idoit fef's i think all the other sec schools should complain to the sec offices about the refs and how this whole tourney was mishandled if this dont work then maby next year all the other scools could all get sick forfiet ( boycott) the torney and the beloved georgia bulldogs can claim another title
