Angry Fans Denied Access To UK Game

The majority of the Wildcat faithful,l who followed the team down to Atlanta didn't get to see the game, at least firsthand.

Those with tickets weren't allowed into Saturday's game, at Georgia Tech. The news didn't sit well with the thousands of fans, hoping to cheer on the Wildcats to a win.

SEC Officials only allowed school officials and family members into the game. The Georgia Tech Coliseum only holds around 9,000 people.

The SEC has promised to refund anyone who bought a ticket to the game, and didn't get to attend. The details of how those refunds will be distributed are still being worked out.

Back here in Lexington, fans cheered on the Wildcats at their favorite establishments.

Many went to different restaurants and bars around town to watch the game on big screens. Some were shocked, to see so many empty seats during the game.

"That's why they call it Catlanta at this time of year. It's crazy not to see fans going nuts at the dome. The fans really get them motivated and into the game, realizing hey, these people believe in us."

Kentucky lost to Georgia, 60-56.

Lives were lost in these storms and all u fans can do is sit back and cry about how u should just be given everything u spent right back to u. Yea ur holy beloved cats lost big deal we will still wake up in the morning unlike the others that lost their life. Basketball is a game u win some and lose some. Instead of walking out on ur team in football with half of the 4th left to play b/c u just dont think they can come back or i have also saw the same thing happen at rupp going home before its over and sometimes the booing those people need just to stay home. There is still the ncaa root them on instead of crying about this tragedy.

No wonder people all over the nation make fun of people here. First off contrary to what some people think it is a game and life will go on. You should be greatful that no one was killed in the storms instead of whining. I understand why the event was closed to the public, had it been open with that limited number of seats, some people would have been hurt or worse due to the inevitable stampede of people trying to get it, then people would have sued the SEC saying they should have been more concerned about safety. Probably some of the very people that are on here trying to have a fit.

First of all, it was a good thing that no one got hurt inside the arena that night. This was an out of the ordinary circumstance for sure. The SEC has agreed to refund the ticket price, and that is really all they can do. Hopefully something like this never happens again. Life is not always by the book.

I may be wrong, but i think that if Bradley had tried to make the shot earlier, than the last few seconds, Ky might have won.

The UK fan in the story thought she should get her gas money, hotel room money and her expenses down there? Ticket price sure no problem. But don't get silly! No wonder Jay Leno makes fun of people from KY!
